One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."
Mary Poppins is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers and astonishing stagecraft. This show is a perfect opportunity to showcase a strong, iconic female performer, as well as unique special effects and illusions.

This process is going to be different than you're used to because this show only has 4 roles, and therefore it does not fit into our traditional method of registration before auditions.
This will be the first Teen Production in our new space that our youth actors will audition for a role in the show. Depending on turnout, some students may not be cast in a role in the show. However, we intend to cast understudies in this show, allowing for a total of six actors.
We are excited to introduce our teens to a more professional and traditional theater experience. Therefore, students may be offered a role on crew for this show. We are looking for students to fill the potential roles of: Assistant to the Director, Assistant Stage Manager, House Manager, etc.
We will discuss this unique opportunity and how it fits into our future seasons in more detail at our parent meeting, as this is not our usual process and not all of our Teen productions will be built this way.
A $50 deposit is not required to audition. Once auditions take place, there will be a series of callbacks, and then actors will be given their roles.
Once students have accepted a role, they will be asked to pay their $50 deposit. The rest of tuition is due by the time rehearsals begin.
