RISING

Are you Hero material? Or, are you an outlaw? What’s the difference? Maybe, where you draw the line? When standing up for a cause makes you an outlaw, when speakingup for the oppressed, rallying for the disenfranchised, and rising for the greater good threatens to shake you out of your comfort zone, when it asks you to give something more of yourself, and maybe risk losing something… that is when the outlaw becomes a hero. Rising up has never been easy and without a cost, and this season’s stories tell the tales of people – some fictional, some real – standing up for what they believe is right; to protect the innocent, to fight for eQuality, to recognize the marginalized, to make sacrifices for the greater good. Outlaws, each of them. And all of them heroes.

Sherwood Rising

Fall Mainstage Play (7th -12th grades)

Original Script by Cait Cassee

Every season needs its stage combat show, and this is a classic. If ever there is a story

to launch our Season of Rising, this is the one. Iconically holding a place in human

history for looking out for the underserved, standing up for what’s right, creating a family

with the friends and allies who believe as you do; that equality and the common good

surpass the needs of the few, and justice can be found – and made – from the ground

up. Or, in this case, from a forest. Sherwood Forest to be exact. Sherwood Rising is our

Fall Mainstage Play for 7th -12th graders.

Antigone In Munich: The Sophie School Story (Stage Partners)

Spring HS Play (9th -12th grades)

The power of words spoken freely. When that is criminalized – when your voice is

denied – and you can no longer speak up against the wrongs you are witnessing

without risking your life – what will you do? Will you rise up anyway? This true story tells

of Sophie Scholl, a young student and activist in World War II Germany, and the society

she and her friends started to spread awareness and inspire resistance against the Nazi

regime. Their White Rose Society, started in 1942, lasted less than a year before they

were arrested, facing devastating consequences, but their work stands as a testament

to the importance of being a voice for the voiceless.

Antigone in Munich is our Spring

Black Box Production for

9th -12th graders.
