Some of her credits include a dramatic reading at WICA of Edgar Allan Poe’s works, Frankie in Frankie and Johnny with LJP Productions, Hattie in The Underground Theatre Company’s production of Laundry & Bourbon, Mother Samsa in Ghost Light Theatrical’s production of Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis, Kattrin in Mother Courage and Her Children as well as Emilie in Bertolt Brecht’s Baal at the Sheridan Theatre in London. A graduate of Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London and The Second City Hollywood, Lucy has also appeared in various short films, improv and sketch comedy shows. She is also a singer/songwriter and poet when not acting.
I am so excited for the chance to direct at WCT! Their ethos, love of theatre and passion for creating a creative outlet for all speaks to me profoundly. At 17, I joined a well regarded youth theatre company and fell fully in-love with theatre. The director of the first play I did with the company expanded me as an actress and inspired me to take it on as my career. That was 21 years ago and I am so grateful for that time that set me on the road of doing what I love for work. Directing is not only an extension of my acting work, it is something I enjoy very much in its own right. Its brings me great to joy to support the actors in finding truth, grounding and belief that who they are is enough. I believe in a well-led collaborative approach to theatre and am beyond grateful for this chance to work with WCT.
Proof begins this Thursday, February 11th with an Informational Meeting at 6:00 pm in the Black Box at Whidbey Children's Theater. Interested High Schoolers and their Parents/Guardians are invited to attend—get to know the director, learn about registration, the rehearsal process, and prepare for auditions.
Auditions for Proof are Thursday, February 18th with Callbacks on Saturday, February 20th. This is a process unique to this show, and will be discussed in depth at the Info Meeting on 2/11.
About Proof, by David Auburn
Catherine has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, Robert. When he dies she has more than grief to deal with: there's her estranged sister, Claire, and Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that Robert left behind. And a further problem: how much of her father's madness (or genius) will Catherine inherit? Gwyneth Paltrow starred in this Pulitzer Prize-winning play which opened at the Donmar Warehouse in 2001
WCT's production of Proof is sponsored by College Search Consultants
